Inyo and Van Ness

At the corner of Inyo and Van Ness in downtown Fresno.

The prominent multi-story structure with the arched parapet in the center of the frame is the beautiful, historic Hotel Californian.

The concrete spirals are a municipal parking structure.

You can almost see Joe's Steak House just to the left of the city bus.

Taken December 2018.

  1. I wouldn't mind driving by there now, I have never eaten at Joe's but I would bet the steaks are good. I doubt if I will ever be back that way again getting too old for another trip around the USA.

    1. Joe's used to be great. Haven't been there in years, though.

Jack, seems like just a couple of years ago you drove all across the USA. Lots of great memories, and lots of great stories we read on your blog, Brother!

    2. We made our last trip around the USA last year. The coach broke down twice. But we still had a great time. I will be 83 in January, so long hauls will be out most likely. BUT I would like one more trip...
I appreciate seeing 'shots' of our great country.

    3. Right on! I hope to see 83, too.

  2. A fine downtown street photo. Never ate at Joe's Steak House, but it sounds inviting.

    1. Thank you. Probably not the best "downtown Fresno" photo. There're plenty of landmark buildings and such on other streets and from better angles.

Joe's was good last time I was there, but it's been a while.
