If a VFR pilot gets lost he can always fly down and read a town name on a water tower to reorient himself. Good shots. I see the palms, but not the bluffs.
I agree about the nostalgic part. They do give that feeling. I don't think I've seen one with cell phone boosters on it. Very clever. The tower might as well serve two purposes.
We have several of these around town. You'll be seeing them here eventually. Cell towers are ubiquitous, I guess - they have to be in order to provide the level of coverage we have, eh?

ReplyDeleteThe bluffs are a few miles north, along the San Joaquin River. Hmmm... maybe I should go photograph them!

ReplyDeleteCell relays are everywhere. Over in your neck of the woods I saw several faux saguaros that were actually cell towers.
