Cross-section Fallen Branch



Last year
during a raging storm,
several big branches were
violently torn from a giant tree
in our backyard.
Workmen came to cut the fallen branches
into manageable pieces.
The cross-sections were interesting.

  1. Looks like those branches are about 50 years old. Must have been some storm. Interesting how the wood checked over time.

  3. I've seen larger pieces like these which were cut, sanded and then lacquered and made into coffee table. They were beautiful as are these.
