Venerable Edifice

Not sure what its purpose was
when it was built (mid-20th century),
but now it guards the entrance to
a phalanx of storage units.

Discarded Music

A pile of trash in a lonely alley,
and music in the midst of it.

I did not take the time to look closely enough
to recognize what piece of music this is.
I did not even get out of my car, actually.
But the music caught my attention.
As a musician, it is a recognizable set of patterns.
It is familiar, friendly, even seductive.
Seeing it discarded like this brought sadness
and even a kind of pain.
Music is Life;
like blood and oxygen,
it is vital to our existence.
Even in the midst of a mini-landfill,
it reaches out to be recognized.

Fire Escape

This is the west side of the
building.
The front view is much more impressive
but I wanted to show the fire escape.
This building was erected in 1924.
They don't make fire escapes like this anymore.
Or, at least, I don't think so...

Street Art #22

Like a tattoo on the side of a building...
and a slice of homespun philosophy...
work smarter, not harder.

Cloud, Sky, Tree

I noticed the blue sky and the fluffy cloud,
and I always like palm trees...
but what really caught my attention
was the stylized holiday tree
hugging the lamp post.

On the parking side of a building that hosts a Panaderia.

Artful Closure

Not colorful.
Not extravagant.
Rustic, weathered, appealing,
artful.

Step inside the Water Tower

This is Fresno's iconic and historic
It was completed in 1894,
and was in continuous use until 1963.

Let's step inside!

The brick construction of the structure that supports
the water tank is extraordinary.

I wonder how many cans of paint it took to paint
that graffiti?
