Here and there we come across wildlife...
sometimes not so wild, really.
For example, I came across this buck in Monterey as I was on a casual stroll.
I was not standing as close as it seems.
Thank you, zoom lens.
August 2016.
This peacock (and a flock of his friends and family)
wanders the grounds of Casa de Fruta.
November 2016.
A white peafowl.
Must be a cock, based on the exorbitant tail plumage.
Part of the peaflock at Casa de Fruta.
Can you see another peacock in this picture?
February 2017.
A cool looking buck!
ReplyDeleteCool, indeed. Calm and collected.
DeleteAt first I thought that buck was a statue! Strange place for him to be hanging around.
ReplyDeleteNot too strange, really. This was on the Presidio of Monterey, which is essentially a refuge. We had herds wandering all over. Saw 'em every day. It was a little strange that he just stood there looking at me while I took his picture, though.
DeleteLooks like some wildlife enjoy posing - very accommodating of them ! 'Proud as a peacock' was never truer ! And yes, saw the 2nd peacock peeking in at the top right corner - must have been wondering what the 'albino' was doing.
ReplyDeleteWe live in a rural environment - my trail cam caught a black bear earlier this summer 200 yards behind the house, where we always take the dogs for a walk - will have to see if I can post the video.
Wow. 'twould be a bit startling to encounter the bear while walking the pooches, eh?
