Someone had a fetish for tiny tiles!
This is at the entrance to a store called "Fetishes" (surprise!) in Ybor City, Florida.
The tile work naturally caught my eye immediately, plus the word "FETISHES" itself, then I noticed the unique basket-weave pattern of the tile inlay, which adds a great three-dimensional effect; and the colors are simple but terrific.
A tip of the fedora to Frank at Tampa Daily Photo for his esprits de corps (in advance).
When I took this picture, I had no idea about "City Daily Photo" in general or fabulous Frank and his fantastic blogs in particular.
Taken 2 August 2010.
Jet-lag resistant Canon PowerShot A590.
Wow! I do not have the patience for that kind of project!
ReplyDeleteThis is really art! Fascinating and quite beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about Frank! A lot of people owe a lot to him. Especially one photography/comedian in Ocala!
...I remember when most stores had a tile 'rug' like this at their door.
ReplyDeleteIt's brilliant.
