in downtown Fresno.

The vacant ground in front of it is part of preparation

for construction of California's High Speed Rail project.

Rain, Rails, and Stairs

This shot

is not likely

to win any

contests or awards,

but

I find a lot

to ponder and examine

and appreciate

in this frame.

For one thing,

I remember

I was standing under an overpass

during a tremendous

rainstorm,

complete with

raucous thunder

and near-hit lightning.

I can still hear it when I look at this photo.
