Giant Ancient Calculator

This giant depiction of an ancient calculator,
an abacus,
is on the outside of a local bank.
Clever.

Feral Appliances

Such a curiosity.
I was stopped at a red light
on my way to work one morning,
and there they were,
a microwave and a fridge.
It looked like they should be
holding up a cardboard sign
asking for help.

Art Installation, Mesa

This art installation was in its own little plaza
in Mesa, Arizona.

The red fence is hiding a power sub-station.

The link in the above photo is no longer available BUT

for more information about street pianos.

Abandoned #2

Detritus
displayed
where it was tossed,
settled,
weathered,
piled upon.
An odd sort of
attraction
to it.
Stories
hidden, lost,
embedded
in the castaway
debris
of anonymous,
unintentional
collaborators
in temporary art -
installation,
assemblage,
found-objects,
lost, but immortalized.

Spiral Art

Art installation suspended from the ceiling
in the Monterey Convention Center.

It looks a bit different from alternate angles:

I didn't find a plaque or sign that would tell me the artist and title.
I would love to know the story of its conception, creation, and installation.

It is like:
kelp
waves
DNA
Jacob's Ladder
birds in flight
