New Day: Wharf and Marina

Had trouble deciding between these two photos,
so y'all just get both of 'em!

So many elements of these photographs
are appealing to me:
water, sky, clouds,
reflections,
boats and their masts,
rocks, plants,
lines, shadows, styles, details of the buildings...

And it all conveys a delicious, quiet sense of peace and joy.

>>>sigh<<<

Nice.

Taken 31 December 2010.

  3. Yes, Tex - it is extraordinarily difficult sometimes!!

Good call, Trevor. I was leaning toward the second one, too, because it has more of the buildings and that nice plant-filled foreground; but I really like the way the first way has that "visual Napoleon" layered effect: water, boats, sky... especially the way the masts reach into the sky and their reflections dive into the water... mmmmmm.

  7. Very nice! The horizon lines are straight :) Sometimes that the biggest challenge. I love these types of scenes they always make me dream of getting in a boat and going on an adventure. Thanks for sharing.
