Staring at Stairs

Straight lines going this way and that,

squares and rectangles,

perpendiculars, diagonals,

steel, concrete, wire mesh,

bolts and brackets,

banisters and balconies,

verdigris vertigo,

a lamp post waiting at the summit,

and overcast sky lends a stark white cyclorama.
