Wired Bird with Bells

This yard decor has been with us for a long time, it is missing one of its brass bells.
I like the shadow and how it is barely perceptible, and the textures of the whitewashed fencing behind the crisper lines of the bird.
Taken 9 September 2010.

  1. Ok that's weird because I have that exact same bird thing. I found it in Palo Colorado Canyon when I lived there, half buried in the dirt (the bird that is, not me) a relic from some former resident.

  2. Wow, that IS weird... and cool, too! We bought ours at like Home Depot or something either in Virginia or Texas probably at least 10 or 15 years ago. Pretty awesome that you found yours as a kind of archaeological found object, though!! And that ours came coast-to-coast to wind up within like ten miles of its counterpart. On the other hand, maybe there are like tens of millions of these things... or maybe just two!

  3. I'm thinking that once upon a time it was maybe a hot Home Depot item. Otherwise I'll start thinking it has some mysterious meaning..like last week when I walked out of Whole Foods and every car in one entire row of the parking lot was white. What are the odds? Crazy!
